The Mecure Brighton Seafront Hotel

This charming and quintessentially ‘British Seaside’ hotel is in prime position for a beachfront holiday.   Only the Superior Rooms have sea views, and they will set you back around £200 a night.  This sound expensive, but the price comes down when booking for a few nights at a time, and you are guaranteed a truly lovely bedroom.  Sky comes on a large flat-screen TV, you’ll have hairdryers, robes and slippers, complimentary WiFi and a luxurious en suite bathroom.

Proper tea and coffee making facilities (with real milk and organic, fair trade produce) are also provided, and you have the option to enjoy a relaxing evening in the award-winning restaurant, or perhaps a nightcap in the stylish lounge.

The Barcelo Brighton Old Ship Hotel

The Old Ship Hotel simply oozes character.  This building dates back to the mid 1600s and has played host to royalty and celebrity alike.  The main attraction at The Old Ship is the private dining space – a stunning transformation of what was once the hotel’s wine cellar.  Exposed bricks make up vaulted ceilings, and atmospheric lighting creates an intimate and theatrical atmosphere, completed with outstanding food and wine that will be hand-chosen by the resident sommelier, according to your chosen set menu.  Bespoke packages are available, and there’s nothing we’ve tasted here that we wouldn’t recommend!

This hotel is certainly more of a treat for a romantic weekend away than it is for a family holiday, and with the seaside on the doorstep, there are plenty of opportunities to take a stroll down to the pier, or to check out the bustling nightlife around the promenade.

City Centre

The Hotel Du Vin Brighton

This warm and welcoming hotel has applied a contemporary twist on its traditional décor to create a really interesting, individual style.  This is a hotel for indulgences and pampering, and it also boasts a fantastic city centre location (yet within short walking distance of the beach), in the Lanes conservation area.

This hotel is both eccentric and peaceful, a strange mix that here, works extremely well.  A mock gothic meets post modern theme is achieved beautifully, with ornate stone gargoyles alongside frosted glass, and a double-height banqueting hall is occupied by the trendy wine bar.  There’s also a rather lovely outdoor terrace…

This is by far the quietest hotel in this lively part of town in terms of getting a good night’s sleep, as the venue has taken extra care to use good quality double glazing to keep the noise from the revelers out – a modern addition that sometimes isn’t allowed in listed buildings.  If you plan on being one of those revelers, however, the reception desk here is open 24 hours a day, and the staff have a wonderful tendency to look after their guests who enjoy a slightly later night.
