Holding your wedding in London really is a very good idea. You can get there from anywhere in the country, there’s plenty of accommodation, the backdrop for the photographs will be beautiful, and you’re spoilt for choice on your venues and catering.
Finding a large open space in London can be difficult. In a place so heavily populated, it can often feel overcrowded and perhaps not as private as you would have liked. We’ve come up with a list of some venues which may be well known, but don’t advertise their facilities for weddings as much as designated wedding venues.
Nestled within the Science Museum is the “Come Fly With Me” area, designated to all things aviation, with a late night license and incredible package deals on food, drink and entertainment. This enormous space can hold up to 400 people, and the in-house DJ’s and bands are experienced and professional enough to accommodate your taste and style.
Steeped in history and with jaw dropping arches, columns and brickwork, this space has to be seen to be believed. The lighting is it’s most attractive feature – being almost completely cut off from natural light, you can create an atmosphere using your colour scheme that will engulf your guests from a 360 degree angle. It almost feels other-worldly, and is a blank yet textured canvas where any kind of decorations just seems to fit in and look great! Even though it’s enclosed, there is a huge amount of space on offer here.
This magnificent building is an architectural gem. The design is typical of the late 1800s, yet the space has been modeised constantly and now presents itself with charm and modesty – although one only has to take a minute to take notice of the details, then it’s obvious that this is an opulent, grand and proud edifice worthy of wonderful events. The historic marble floor compliments any bridal gown, and the museum is ideally situated in the heart of London – although, you’ll certainly have enough room for up to 400 people to eat, dance and be merry with plenty of breathing space.
