3 top venues in London’s Barbican
The Barbican is an unusual architectural and cultural gem in the City of London, with plenty of choice for venue hire for corporate and private events. The Barbican Centre itself was developed in the Brutalist style of architecture alongside the residential Barbican Estate. The leading UK arts complex was opened in 1982 and boasts a cinema, art gallery, theatre, music venue, dedicated workshops and learning spaces, plus the Museum of London within a stone’s throw.
Whether you’re looking for a great spot for a retirement party, business networking or client entertaining, there’s a wealth of fabulous and often unusual venues just waiting to be discovered. We’re highlighting just 3 venues below. Please give us a call on 020 7186 8686 to find out more about these and many other City venues for your next event.
The Conservatory & Garden Room, Barbican Centre
This conservatory venue is certainly one of the most unusual, unique and memorable venues in Central London, whether you’re booking in for Afternoon Tea with a friend, or hiring the venue for a corporate event.
Imaginatively stocked with 2,000 species of tropical plants and hundreds of species of tropical fish, the Conservatory is covered by a large glass roof, making it a perfect all-weather meeting space for up to 150 guests. This iconic venue is a veritable oasis tucked away in the concrete architecture of the Barbican.
Ironmongers’ Hall, Shaftesbury Place, Barbican
One of the great 12 livery companies in the City, Ironmongers’ Hall is a beautiful and historic venue for conferences and exhibitions, meetings and workshops, and many other events besides. Did you know that the Banqueting Hall featured in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?
Built in the 1920s, the Hall is evocative of much older Tudor times, with a wealth of intricate craftsmanship and a grand style that makes this such a popular venue. Ironmongers’ Hall offers comprehensive facilities to cater for a wealth of events – from formal luncheons and dinners to presentations and receptions. Flexible seating permits seating for a maximum of 150 guests, or standing events for up to 250 people.
St Bart’s Brewery
A historic event venue, restaurant and bar situated in Farringdon and overlooking Smithfield Market, St Bart’s Brewery has earned a reputation as one of Central London’s most sought after venues for drinks, dinner and dancing, with a capacity of 250 guests.
St Bart’s is comprised of 5 sections. Upstairs, there’s The Balfour Bar and The Mezzanine. The Balfour Bar can accommodate 30-40 guests and has a classic British vibe with lush leather seating – the perfect venue for a refined private dining event. Downstairs you’ll find The Stage, The Dance Floor and The Lounge, which can be hired separately or as one venue.
The Stage is integral to St Bart’s identity as a live music venue with a late licence, and comes fully equipped for sound, lighting and other AV needs. The Lounge provides a calmer and quieter space for conversation.
