Beautiful and elegant wedding venue in County Durham

Seaham Hall plays host to weddings of all shapes and sizes all year round, from the high society weddings to smaller, more intimate affairs.  Built in 1791, Seaham Hall has been immaculately restored to its original Georgian Country House splendour, with interiors that combine mode touches with classic architecture.  As well as views over County Durham’s heritage coastline, there are also 37 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens to admire.  The venue itself is on in cliff top location, just 6 miles from Sunderland, 13 miles from Durham and 20 miles from Newcastle. 

Also boasting an award-winning serenity spa, Seaham Hall is also home to two fantastic restaurants.  There’s a sea grill offering up hearty British food, and a Pan Asian restaurant with a more eclectic, adventurous menu.  If you’re really splashing out, you can even have your wedding breakfast designed and prepared by a Michelin star chef.

Many of the private rooms at Seaham Hall are licensed for civil ceremonies, and we at Function Fixers highly recommend a site visit – there are a lot of spaces to choose from here, including an enormous Ballroom, a refined 17^th century drawing room, and a large conservatory.  You’ll also be spoilt for choice on where to take your wedding photos, with a beautiful setting of this elegant mansion, manicured gardens and far-reaching sea views.

If you’d like an entirely private celebration, this wedding venue is available to hire exclusively.  This includes full use of the main house and the grounds, and also includes the use of the two restaurants.  A total of 175 guests can be accommodated here, with the largest space holding 120 for a sit down meal in cabaret style.
