Historical venue for team building, meetings and training days near Manchester City Centre

Quarry Bank Mill is an exceptionally beautiful place.  Built in 1784, it now plays host to educational away-days, corporate meetings, training courses and teambuilding – not to mention lavish wedding receptions and exclusive private celebrations.  This venue immediately captures your imagination – there’s some kind of authentic, old-world magic in the atmosphere and constant reminders of the craftsmanship, labour and teamwork that was required to keep this busy hub of industry running at a crucial time for Britain.

Stunning views over Bollin Valley and the mills meadows gives a sense of seclusion, and light, airy meeting rooms allow you to stretch your legs and create bespoke events for up to 100 delegates at a time.  This venue is only 25 minutes from Central Manchester and a 2 hour drive from London, and there’s a coach bay and ample car parking, free WiFi and the option to hire both floors of the events centre to give you access to both The Alexander Room and The Grant Room.  Both these spaces are accessible via a lift, and there are two bars so you can serve drinks after a hard day’s work.  AV equipment is on the sparse side and you’ll only receive a flip chart, marker pens and a projector in your hire fee, so it’s best to bring everything you think you may need for your event.  There’s plenty of space, flat floors, new toilets and access to a beautiful cobbled courtyard where al fresco dining is an option.

For teambuilding, Function Fixers can arrange for you to go on tour with the rangers for an afteoon of tending to the wildlife and leaing about the history and conservation of the buildings and their terrain.  This is a fantastic activity for a younger team – really getting stuck in and a bit grubby, working as one and getting some freedom out in the fresh air.  There are also tours of the mill, which still has the most powerful working water wheel in Europe, and opportunities for some hands-on leaing about this incredible machine. 

The all-inclusive packages available for corporate events are both affordable and cleverly crafted.  Starting at just £15pp (including VAT) from 9am til 12pm, you’ll get baked goods, juice, tea, coffee and water for breakfast and another helping of the above at mid-moing.  At the other end of the scale at £40pp, you can opt to have room hire from 9 to 5, a baked goods breakfast with hot drinks and juice, a top up at mid-moing, a fabulous buffet lunch of local cheeses with chutney and bread, cured and cooked organic meats, oat biscuits with pate, savoury seasonal tarts with dressed salad, and a platter of tasty desserts.  Mid-afteoon, you’ll also have afteoon tea with cakes, crumpets and scones!
