Romantic, Spacious and Historical Wedding Venue with Outdoor Space in York City Centre
Treasurer’s House, Yorkshire, is a romantic and ancient venue with everything to offer even the most disceing of couples on their wedding day. Your partner, you and 78 other people can enjoy the opulent surroundings of this beautiful space, which has history dating back 2,000 years! This venue can only be hired exclusively on a Friday, but you are certain to have every inch of this glorious space to yourselves. The catering will be provided by the venue’s tried and trusted National Trust caterers, who naturally have a wealth of experience and can deliver superb results using fresh produce.
You can have your civil ceremony in the Great Hall, a medieval wonder of marble floors, stone walls, imposing portraits and a roaring fireplace. There is a balcony area here too, offering your photographer the first of many opportunities for an unforgettable photograph.
While in a York City Centre location, your photographs will look like they’ve been taken in another world. The Great Hall leads directly out onto the spectacular walled garden, providing artistic and unique opportunities for wedding photographs with a difference, in front of water features, by statues, or below long-standing trees.
The Walled Garden is the perfect place for drinks and finger food, but if you’d like a sit-down meal, you can do so in the Tearooms. Set over two floors and boasting fabulous exposed brickwork and intimate yet spacious proportions, this space has a more relaxed feel to it than the rest of the venue. It is very easy to decorate, and looks exquisite when lit by candlelight.
Complimentary tickets for your wedding party to explore the venue on either the day after or before the wedding is included in the price of your visit – a perfect next-day activity for those wishing to seek out more of this fascinating venue’s long and turbulent history.
