See London by bicycle…..

What better way to enjoy the sights of London than from the saddle of a bicycle?

LondonBike37

Based in Gabriel’s Wharf on the South Bank, The London Bicycle Company has been offering high quality bike tours for a number of years. The Central London Tour takes in all London’s main sights, such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and St Paul’s Cathedral – and is conducted in seven different languages (English, French, Dutch, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese). Bikes and helmets are provided and you can choose from mountain bikes and more traditional models. With experienced, knowledgeable guides it really is an energetic and fun way to get to know this vast city.

In addition to the Central Tour, there is the West End Tour which takes you through the West End, Westminster and Soho and the East Tour where there are less tourists and less traffic and you can even stop off at London’s oldest pub for a well deserved pint! The Olympic Tour takes you round the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park where you can explore all of the Olympic venues and round the tour off with free entry to the Arcelor Mittal Orbit.  Most of the tours are 3 hours long except the Olympic tour which takes 7 hours, so this one is not for the faint hearted!

Finally there is the Night Tour where there is less talking and more cycling! This route takes you over Tower Bridge, past St Paul’s Cathedral through the city to the Millenium Bridge, then on to Westminster, Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden and finally over Waterloo Bridge.

All tours can be booked for groups and can be tailor made for each group if required. Most of the tours are around nine miles in length, so you might even burn some calories too!

They also hire out bikes by the hour or by the day, for you to design your own tour, including traditional, hybrid, mountain bikes, children’s bikes and yes, you can even hire a tandem….
