Jean-Luc Benazet
Jean-Luc Benazet – photographer and entrepreneur. The French-born husband and father of one grew up in a village near Toulouse in south west France. Since 1998 he has lived in Cambridge and has never looked back.
Photography hasn’t always provided the bread and butter for the now professional. Up until April 2015, Jean-Luc’s day job was as a translator, but circumstances brought him to a position whereby he needed to come up with an alternative. Having been semi-professional since April 2003, there was no reason to not take this opportunity to do what he loves best, and go fully pro.
Jean-Luc’s main company, www.jeanlucbenazet.com, took off in 2003. During that period he shot a lot of film and music festivals and gigs and met with some world famous bands and artists such as Amy Winehouse, and found himself shooting many celebrities and world icons, including none other than Nelson Mandela himself. Some of the live music photography is showcased on www.livemusicphotography.net.
October 2013 saw the birth of Jean-Luc’s son. New life into the world brought new ideas along with it, and Jean-Luc’s entrepreneurial side started to develop. With that, ZZZ Media and his hugely successful Cambridge Photographers was created.
Throughout the years, moving into professional photography was on course for Jean-Luc and today, his focus is on photographing people, which takes him to weddings, events and studio and portrait locations. Specialising in people photography, including a particular love of weddings, means that Jean-Luc gets to do what he loves best – capturing people in their happiest moments. His joy for taking these photos is reflected in the quality of his work, resulting in wonderful photographs that allow a memory to last a lifetime.
Instead of setting up a technical scene, which can result in a rather “staged” photograph, Jean-Luc prefers to do what feels more natural and capture moments spontaneously in their rawest forms.
Portrait, wedding and event photography are currently the skills which he is finding are most in demand, but there are also many corporate requests coming in. Companies are booking team photographs, PR shoots and events such as annual dinners, staff portraits and Christmas parties.
Jean-Luc also owns a portable studio and is happy to travel to different locations, using either black or white backdrops and a choice of equipment to create different style portraits. Whether for professional or personal use, you can be safe in the knowledge that you will walk away with a beautiful photograph.
