BAM Victoria: The Office Christmas Party Gets a Microphone
Every office has someone who knows all the words to ABBA. BAM Victoria gives them somewhere to prove it.
For a Christmas party with more personality than any other, this Victoria Street venue brings together private karaoke rooms, cocktails, festive food and plenty of scope for a very enthusiastic encore. The singing may be questionable, but the setting certainly isn’t!
Across two floors, BAM Victoria has 22 individually designed karaoke rooms, two bars, a live music stage and an outdoor terrace. You can book a room for a small team, take a collection of rooms for a larger group or hire the whole venue, with capacity for up to 450 guests. And these rooms all have distinct character. The Flamingo Room goes all in on bright pink, while the Orangerie has colour-changing neon panels. The hidden Speakeasy pairs dark red velvet curtains with table lamps for a more intimate atmosphere. There is nothing anonymous about a Christmas party here.
Private rooms also make karaoke a rather different proposition from singing in front of a bar full of strangers. Your team chooses the songs, shares the microphone and decides just how seriously to take the performance. Food and drinks can be ordered in the room, so nobody has to abandon the chorus to fetch another round.
There is plenty to tempt people away from the microphone, too. The menu, developed by chef Sabrina Gidda, includes BAM fried chicken with hot maple mustard alongside festive specials such as turkey and cranberry toasties, glazed chipolatas and fried sprouts with lemon aioli. A Christmas dinner experience is available on request, and groups can pre-order food and drink packages.
Then there is the Moët & Chandon vending machine. Tokens, miniature champagne bottles and a Christmas party: you can see where this is going. Low and no-alcohol drinks are available too.
For a larger celebration, the BAM BAM Bar has space for up to 200 standing guests, with a stage and DJ booth. DJs, hosted karaoke, music trivia, bingo and live musicians can be arranged, giving you ways to involve colleagues who would happily leave the solos to someone else.
You could start with food and drinks, move into the private rooms and bring everyone together again in the bar. Or make it a daytime celebration with lunch, brunch or a cocktail masterclass. The venue has a 1.30am licence for teams planning a later finish, with arrangements confirmed when booking.
Our take? BAM Victoria is a strong option for a team that enjoys music and wants an activity at the heart of its Christmas party. We would build in time to eat, chat and enjoy the bar as well as sing. Even the office’s most committed performer needs an interval.
