Whirled Cinema is one of London’s best-kept cinematic secrets. This versatile venue is both available for private hire, and open to its members for film screenings. It features a seating capacity of 60, digital projection with 5.1 Surround Sound, a 4m x 2.25m cinema screen and a high quality P.A. System, perfect for presentations and speeches. Nestled under the Loughborough Junction arches and giving a real sense of intimacy and warmth, the cinema offers sofa style seating with cushions, and uses atmospheric lighting – creating a really welcoming environment under the exposed red brick vaulted ceilings.
This venue is entirely independent, so much so that it’s bordering on bohemian. Your film will be shown completely free of advertising and trailers, you’re welcome to bring your own food, and you can purchase beer here for a mere snippet of the prices found in the world above – all of which you can enjoy at your leisure whilst in your seat. You may not be able to bring drinks in from outside, but the cash bar here is well stocked, inexpensive and certain to provide you with an excellent service. Be warned though, there’s no champagne – but Whirled are happy to let you “BYOC” and pop a few corks at a fee of just £10 per bottle.
Details such as spacious, clean toilets and a small but vibrant bar make this an ideal venue for a private function, and there’s also a secluded balcony/terrace area where smoking is allowed. Home made pizzas are also available as standard on every night of the week, and you’re even welcome to bring in your own caterers if you wish. The kitchen facilities aren’t huge, but they are certainly able to accommodate the preparation of canapés and bowl food. Contact us here for more information about self-catering at Whirled.
This utterly marvellous little venue is available for private hire on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday nights for a minimum of just 2 to a maximum of 60 people, and we at Function Fixers can book the entire space for you.
