Small Museum venue in Central London

In a tranquil setting neighbouring Battlebridge Basin, The London Canal Museum offers industrial style blank canvas gallery spaces covering two floors, and a small but perfectly formed conference room. This building dates back to 1860, and still boasts a rare and beautiful feature – an enormous ice well, perfectly preserved beneath a glass floor and lit up in neon colours.
While the venue is within just a short walking distance of Kings Cross, Euston, and St. Pancras, there’s also a private dock should you wish to treat your delegates to a trip along the Thames.
The gallery on the ground floor offers a fantastic reception/registration area, with exposed brickwork, wooden beams and atmospheric lighting over the ice well. The first floor provides an expansive, uninterrupted floor space able to seat 150 in theatre style, and there’s access to a charming outdoor terrace overlooking the canal.
WiFi comes as standard, and you’re welcome to use the lighting systems to personalize your space in terms of colour and angles. Coat rails and chairs also come included in the hire price, and of course, you’ll get the opportunity to have a wonder around this fascinating museum. As the canals were the main route for trade for hundreds of years, some truly fascinating artifacts, objects and documents reside in this quirky and stylish venue.
You can choose to use the kitchen free of charge here if you wish to self-cater or hire your preferred supplier, but the venue also has a list of reliable local businesses that can help plan every decorative and gastronomic element of your event. You also have your say in terms of climate control, and the venue has been careful to eliminate any draughts during the restoration of this historic structure.
A wide range of AV equipment resides here, including HD projectors & screens, high speed internet throughout the building, public address, an interactive whiteboard, DVD players, and a pass-round microphone with PA systems. Power supplies are in abundance, and you’re welcome to bring any extra gear you may need.
We at Function Fixers thoroughly recommend a site visit to the London Canal Museum, so you can really plan the look of your event around this inspiring space. You can arrange one free of charge by contacting us here!
