Unusual wedding venue ideas

,

Some of us don’t want the typical traditional fairytale wedding and it’s understandable why. Since our weddings are such momentous occasions, our own personal imprint on them should be just as memorable. It can however, be hard to find a wedding venue that’s truly unique and different. Here are a few unusual wedding venue ideas:

Pinewood Studios

The world famous Pinewood Studios is an interesting and quirky choice of wedding venue. A location for a number of memorable films, including several James Bond movies, Pinewood Studios is a fantastic wedding venue for film lovers searching for a bit of nostalgia. You can choose specific TV and film studios, in this glamorous film setting, which has hosted an abundance of absolute stars and legends, from Marilyn Monroe to Sean Connery.

An Arabian Tent

Nothing says glamour, intimacy and extravagance like an Arabian tent – an ideal unique wedding venue idea. An Arabian tent also allows you to base the whole of your wedding around a set theme, with an Arabian nights theme particularly unusual, different and fun. There is the Arabian Tent Company based in East Sussex that can arrange an Arabian tent for your wedding in Britain.

A Beach House

A beach wedding is always a fantastic wedding idea – provided that the weather’s nice. The beaches and weather conditions are of course likelier to be better in tropical regions than the cold United Kingdom. However, you shouldn’t let a little cold prevent you from getting married on a British beach should you wish – or perhaps you should. Beach weddings can come with their own sense of bridal fashion and there are a number of blogs and websites like brideheaven.co.uk that can give advice and tips on what to wear.

A British Fort Or Castle

Castles and forts are seeped with history, significance, tradition and meaning. All of these attributes are tailor made for romance, making them perfect wedding venue choices. Typically majestic, beautiful and grand, castles and forts provide great and awe-inspiring backdrops for weddings. Since they’re often based in the countryside, the surrounding scenery is also often gorgeous, romantic and very much fitting for a wedding. There are a number of magnificent British castles and forts that can be hired for wedding ceremonies.

Polhawn Fort on the Cornish coast near South Devon is a personal favourite since the Napoleonic fort looks out over the sea at the tip of the Rame peninsula.

A Walking Wedding

Of course, you do not actually have to have a set venue for your wedding. Instead you can find a general spot and walk throughout the ceremony. Walking weddings are different, fun and quirky. They also allow the scenery to change throughout the wedding in a seamless transition, which will help guests remain engaged. It is important that the general setting you choose is quiet and tranquil enough for the guests to hear the ceremony. Furthermore, you don’t want your guests walking so much that they become tired. Parks are typically perfect for walking weddings. Just remember to tell guests to wear wellies if the weather isn’t too wet!
